ASEAN economic officials start meeting in Danang

ME - Senior economic officials from 10 Southeast Asian nations began to meeting in the central coast city of Danang on Monday to review preparations for a number of key ASEAN meetings.
The ASEAN Senior Economic Officials Meeting (SEOM) is being chaired by Le Quang Lan, deputy head of the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Multilateral Trade Policy Department, reports the Vietnam News Agency.
The preparations under review at the meeting are for the fourth ASEAN Economic Community Council Meeting (AEC-4), the 42nd ASEAN Economic Ministers Meeting (AEM-42) and related meetings slated for August 24-28 in Danang.
The officials have reached agreement on proposals for action plans, agendas and a list of documents that will be adopted at the ministerial conferences.
The meeting have also looked into documents for the consultative conference for the economic ministers of the ASEAN and dialogue partners China, South Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, India, the European Union (EU) and Russia.
