Becamex IDC starts building roads in Binh Duong

News/Binh Duong - Becamex IDC, an investment and industrial development firm in Binh Duong Province, on Wednesday commenced work on three main roads in the southern province’s Tan Uyen District to facilitate investment attraction.

Nguyen Van Hung, board chairman of Becamex IDC, said his company would invest VND1,700 billion to build about 57 km of six-lane road and toll stations.

The three roads are being developed in the build-operate-transfer (BOT) format. The 18-km Provincial Road DT 746 is the shortest among the three, connecting Tan Phuoc Khanh Town and Nam Tan Uyen area with Thu Dau Mot, the capital town of the province.

Provincial Road DT 747B running from Binh Chuan to Hoi Nghia will be about 19 km long and connect the northeast of Tan Uyen with Thuan An and Di An districts. It will play an important role in goods transportation as it will serve as a link between Song Than depot and ports in neighboring provinces including HCMC and Dong Nai, he said.

Meanwhile, Provincial Road DT 742 will stretch around 20 km from Phu My to Cong Xanh, and link the north of Tan Uyen District with Binh Duong City in the near future.

According to the province at the groundbreaking ceremony, Binh Duong Province will also spend some VND2,300 billion clearing land to make room for construction of the three roads.

It will take about four years to complete the 57 km of road and toll collection will begin in 2014 and last 50 years, excluding the time required for road construction.
