British businesses keen on Vietnamese market
News - A business delegation from the UK, led by Deputy Chief Executive of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Peter Bishop will visit Vietnam from November 14-18 to seek investment opportunities.

The delegation will travel to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to visit a number of economic establishments such as Harvey Nash, HSBC, Prudential, Shell and GlaxoSmithKline.

Peter Bishop said Vietnam is an attractive investment destination for British businesses thanks to its favourable investment environment and rapid growth.

The opening of a new direct air route from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to London will help the two countries boost business cooperation, he said.

The LCCI leader suggested Vietnam join the Customs Convention on the ATA Carnet for the Temporary Admission of Goods, saying this is very important for the Southeast Asian country to promote trade and investment. As many as 71 countries have signed the Convention so far, he said, adding that the LCCI will have a 12-page coverage of Vietnam’s business opportunities in its December 2011-January 2012 edition.
