Da Nang International Airport expected to increase transport capacity over 20pct

News - The Da Nang International Airport this year is expected to receive 3.6 million visitors, a 20 percent increase against last year, and annual turnover is expected to jump 178 percent for non-flight services against last years figures.
After a month of operating, the Da Nang International Airport passenger terminal received 2,500 flights including 192 international flights, marking an increase of 21 percent over the same period last year. The number of visitors going through the airport has been 273,000 including 14,000 international tourists since last December - a 5 percent increase over last year.
The number of daily visitors using the airport increase by 20 percent compared to figures taken before the passenger terminal came into service last December.
By mid-year, airport will complete the upgrading of the taking off and landing terminal project to accommodate the increase in traffic volume and improve the transport capacity of the airport. The airport will also begin operating a $9.8 million solar energy system this year.
After completing all of these upgrades, the airport will have a transport capacity of six million passengers per year, with financial growth of 15 percent for the year.
The international passenger terminal currently receives two domestic flights and seven international flights.
