GFATM sponsors healthcare project
News - The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM) will provide US $86 million in aid for a project assisting Việt Nam’s health system in 2012-2016 term, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH).

The MoH reported that the project consists of two parts.

Part 1 will support 15 provinces to train 1,000 doctors in four year and 6,000 medical workers in villages and hamlets. Local medical workers will also receive training in AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria prevention under this plan.

Part 2 will focus on increasing capacity for the National Centre of Drug Information and Adverse Drug Reactions Monitoring.

A national network will be set up to monitor adverse drug reactions in community healthcare programs, together with a feedback system to promote safe use of drugs.
