Gov’t agrees to adjust total investment for southern port
News - Deputy PM Hoàng Trung Hải today gives his opinions on the adjustment of the total investment capital for the Cái Mép-Thị Vải Port Project using Japanese ODA loans.

Cái Mép-Thị Vải Port is a large-scale project in the Thị Vải River in the southern province of Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu.

In 2004, the PM approved the project which would use loans from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation.

The project consists of a container port (Cái Mép) with two wharfs which can receive 80,000 DWT container ships and a general port (Thị Vải) for 50,000 DWT vessels.

With the total investment capital is VND 11,473 billion, the project will be carried out for four years (2008-2012).

Deputy PM Hoàng Trung Hải assigns the Ministry of Transport to ensure the content, legality and accuracy of all adjusted figures in line with the latest regulations and policies.

The Ministry will also negotiate with donors for capital resources to conduct the adjusted project.
