News - The Prime Minister on Wednesday approved the zoning plan of the scale 1:5000 to develop a hi-tech park covering some 1,010 hectares in Hoa Vang District in the central coast city of Danang.
In a decision posted on the Government portal www.chinhphu.vn, the Government states that the hi-tech park will function as a center to research, invent, develop, transfer and apply high technology, as well as to train hi-tech human resources.
In addition, the park as a business incubator will facilitate production, business and service activities, enhance the application and commercialization of scientific research results and advanced technology, and promote the socio-economic development of Danang City as well as the central and highland regions.
Some 40,000-50,000 people will join in the operation of the hi-tech park, with 10,000 of them to reside there.
Under the plan, the Danang Hi-tech Park will be developed with seven functional areas. Among those, the hi-tech manufacturing area covering 206 hectares in the center will produce hi-tech products to supply industrial parks and processing export zones in the region.
The research-development and training area will serve R&D activities and provide training courses for enterprises. Meanwhile, the administrative management area will organize conferences, exhibitions and have space for supporting services.
The residential area will be developed on a 37-hectare area in the west of Hoa Trung Lake. Public service facilities will be distributed there, along with high-grade villas for specialists and semi-detached houses and apartments for medium and high-income earners working in the hi-tech park.
The green space and water area will also be built with land for parks and parking zones, while the technical infrastructure area will offer place for waste treatment. Lastly, the logistics and hi-tech services area will supply delivery services, packages and storages.
The hi-tech park project includes many portfolios. Therefore, the Government requested the commencement to be rolled out synchronously and cooperatively, avoiding overlaps and ensuring technical requirements.
The investment programs and projects in the Danang Hi-tech Park will be implemented in three phases, in the periods from 2012 to 2015, from 2016 to 2018 and from 2019-2020.
The first phase will prioritize site clearance, compensation, infrastructure development, and several projects in the administrative management area and the logistics and hi-tech services area.
Previously, the Government had signed decisions to issue the operation statute for the Danang Hi-tech and establish the management board of the park under the Danang City’s People Committee.
