Hanoi to build 2.5m m2 of new houses in 2012
News - Hanoi Department of Construction has recently reported that in 2011, the capital city has built three million square meters of housing area together with commercial housing projects to meet the market demand.

Also in 2011, the city has focused on implementation of social housing projects to meet housing needs for policy beneficiaries and low-income people. In addition, the city speeded up the completion progress of housing projects for pupils and students in Phap Van, Tu Hiep, My Dinh II; housing for low-income earners in Sai Dong new urban zone, Thanh Lam - Dai Thinh II urban zone, Ngo Thi Nham housing area and housing area in Kien Hung, Dang Xa new urban zone, Dai Mo housing area and housing area in North Co Nhue.

In 2012, the department's key task is to continue to strengthen the state management in management sector of construction and urban infrastructure. Of which, the department will focus developing infrastructure system and social houses with an aim to complete a new area of 2.5 million m2 of housing in 2012.

Currently, the department is focusing on completing the housing development programme till 2020, of which the first goal is to solve the housing demand for 60 percent of pupils and students, 50 percent of housing demand for labourers in industrial zones, and export processing zones, build 15,000 houses for low-income earners and bring the average housing area to 26-28 m2/person.
