News - HCM City is committed to creating a
favourable business environment and a transparent legal framework for Japanese
businesses, says a municipal official.
Nguyen Trung Tin, Vice Chairman of the Municipal
People’s Committee made the commitment at a roundtable conference between the
committee and the Japan Business Association (JBAH) on August 26.
Mr Tin highlighted the great contribution Japanese
businesses have made to the city’s development in recent years.
The conference aims to provide information on
Vietnam’s economic development and the results of managing recent foreign
investment activities, recommend new policies, remove hindrances for Japanese
businesses operating in the city, and gather opinions from Japanese businesses.
Lu Thanh Phong, deputy director of the city’s
Department of Planning and Investment said HCM City wants to facilitate
investment registration procedures for Japanese businesses.
Toshio Kashiwagi, Chairman of the JBAH in HCM City
expressed thanks to the municipal People’s Committee and related agencies who
have made great efforts to improve the business environment.
Delegates discussed problems and solutions related
to business activities of foreign-invested enterprises.
They also devised methods to access the city’s
infrastructure projects and reduce the cumbersome formalities impeding import-export
activities.
