Industrial production index up 6.9 percent in first eleven months

CA - The industrial production index in the first eleven months of 2011 rose by approximately 6.9 percent compared to the same period last year, reported the General Statistics Office.
Of this, the mining exploration index decreased by 0.2 percent while processing industry and electricity, gas and water production indexes increased by 9.8 percent and 9.6 percent, respectively.
Industries witnessing rises in the index in November were porcelain and pottery (86 percent), sugar (up 42.4 percent) and automobile and motorbike (up 19.9 percent).
On the contrary, some industries seeing decreases in the index were crude oil and natural gas exploration (1.7 percent), pharmaceutical chemistry and drug production (3.1 percent), electrical wiring companies (20.9 percent), ship building and repairing (22 percent).
