Kanematsu Corporation (Japan) studied investment opportunities in Ba Ria - Vung Tau
ME/Vũng Tàu - On 23rd December 2011 at Office of Industry and Trade Department, leaders of Industry and Trade Department, Planning and Investment Department, Foreign Affairs Department and Ba Ria - Vung Tau Industrial Zones Authority received Kanematsu Corporation led by Mr. Suguru Sugai – Manager, Electronics and IT Department who paid a working visit  for studying investment opportunities in the Province.

In the meeting, Mr. Surugu Sugai, representative of Kanematsu Corporation, introduced general information of business activities of the Corporation, its projects and business activities in Vietnam and expressed intention to find a suitable investment location.

Kanematsu is one of 8 leading trading groups of Japan that has been established since 1889 specializing in various business fields. Kanematsu has been in Vietnam for past 20 years and food is strength of the Corporation while doing business in Vietnam.

On behalf of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, Madam Tran Thi Huong, Director of Department of Industry and Trade introduced about the province, sectors that the province were calling for investment (supporting industries), advantages of the province and listened to what Kanematsu shared on point of view of Japanese people in decision making as well as Japanese working style. The province also introduced its strengths in aspects of oil& gas, electric, port, geographical location.

Mr. Surugu Sugai said that he was well impressed about Ba Ria – Vung Tau because the leaders here always listened to, recognized and shared with investor’s concerns.

BRVT province stated that it would positively coordinate with Kanematsu to make survey on some locations (industrial clusters, industrial zones in the province) to find the most appropriate investment location for Kanematsu.
