Nghệ An to become an industrial center in Central VN by 2020
UB.Laws/Nghe An - The scheme is aimed to convert Nghệ An into an industrial province by 2020 (GDP per capita: US $3,100) and a center of tourist, trade, educational, health, scientific and technological activities in the northern part of Central Việt Nam.
The province will prioritize industries of comparative advantages and stable markets. Meanwhile, hi-tech industries must be promoted.
Nghệ An plans to develop tourism as an important economic industry, building two tourist centers (Vinh City and Cửa Lò) and a national tourist zone (Kim Liên-Nam Đàn).
Apart from industrial and tourist development, the province will be built to become a center of tertiary education in the region. In health care, after 2010, Nghệ An will possess some world-class hospitals and improve communal-level clinics.The province encourages all economic sectors to invest in infrastructure development. Nghệ An pledges to create an attractive investment environment through preferential mechanisms and policies on land rent.
