Phu Long Bridge opens to traffic

News - Phu Long Bridge opened to traffic yesterday, spanning the Sai Gon River and linking HCM City with the neighbouring province of Binh Duong.
The VND898 billion (US$42.8 million) project connects Hoang Huy Giap Street in HCM City's District 12 with National Highway 13 in Binh Duong Province.
The 1,470m-long bridge has four traffic lanes for motor vehicles and two multi-purpose lanes.
According to the HCM City Transport Department, the bridge is expected to shorten distance and travel time between the two localities and contribute to reducing traffic congestion in the area.
Authorities hope that the bridge will boost socio-economic cooperation between the two localities and enhance one of the key economic zones in the southern region.
