PM ratifies Germany-funded forest project

News - PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng has given nod to the project portfolio of the "Program for promotion of sustainable natural forest management, trade marketing of forest products” (or Forestry Program), phase three.
The project, set to be funded by German Government, was designed to help rural residents and provincial forest managers to access to standards and method for sustainable forest management and use.
It also helps encourage private sector’s investment in forest development in a bid to raise the quality of the related products
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development was assigned to finalize the project documents, verify and approve them.
The first phase of the program had been conducted in five provinces of Yên Bái, Quảng Bình, Ninh Thuận, Đắk Lắk and Kon Tum from October 2005 till 2008.
The onging second phase was deployed in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the above five localities from September 2009.
