CA - Haiphong People’s Committee has been asked to consider taking back the Duy Hung hi-end hotel and trade services complex project as developer Duy Hung Company Limited has delayed its implementation.
According to the Haiphong Planning and Investment Department director Le Thanh Son, the Duy Hung complex project got an investment licence and the space was handed over to the developer in 2005. However, the project site of over 9,000 square metres within the Nga 5-Cat Bi airport new urban area still remains an empty space thus far.
At the time Duy Hung hi-end hotel and trade services complex site was transferred to developer, two other projects - Haiphong Plaza trade centre project with covers 12,868sqm and EIE trade centre project over 30,130sqm - were also given sites.
However, just part of the Haiphong Plaza trade centre is now under construction and the three-story BigC supermarket over several thousands square metre came into existence at the EIE trade centre site.
