News - Rockwell Automation Southeast Asia under the U.S. Rockwell Automation Inc. on Monday received an investment certificate to establish a service company in the HCMC-based Saigon Hi-Tech Park.
The company said at the license awarding ceremony that at present it had no intention to invest in a production base in Vietnam since several factories have been founded in Asia-Pacific region. Instead, Rockwell Automation decided to open a company in Saigon Hi-Tech Park to supply services and solutions to local customers while pending more customers to come to Vietnam in the coming time.
Rockwell Automation expects to invest US$2 million in the first five years. During this phase, the company will offer integrated systems and solutions for software and hardware, information solutions as well as power, energy and oil control.
In addition, the investor will provide services such as integrated performance evaluation, accessory repair and replacement, and training.
According to Saigon Hi-Tech Park, many customers of Rockwell Automation are international hi-tech producers. The presence of Rockwell Automation in the park is to prepare itself for future business opportunities.
Since the year’s beginning, there have been 12 projects licensed into the city’s hi-tech park with the total registered capital of some US$165 million. Overall, there have been 57 investment projects worth US$2 billion in total.
