Sembcorp Subsidiary Signs MoU to Develop 1200MW Coal Fired Plant in Vietnam

News - Sembcorp Utilities, subsidiary of Sembcorp Industries has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to develop a 1,200MW coal fired plant in Vietnam.
The MoU was signed between the Quang Ngai PC Chair Cao Khoa and Sembcorp Executive vice President & Head of Singapore and Asean (Utilities) Ng Meng Poh.
Sembcorp executive vice president Ng said the economic Zone's rapid industrial development has supported the tremendous economic growth of Quang Ngai province.
"With our combined expertise and proven track record, Sembcorp is well-positioned to provide integrated solutions for the Zone's present and future power needs" said Ng.
This is the second agreement Sembcorp signed with Quang Ngai PC in the recent six months.
Sembcorp's Industrial Parks business, through its joint venture in the Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park, signed a MoU in September 2011 with Quang Ngai PC to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study of a 1,020-hectare integrated township and industrial park in Quang Ngai province.
