Work begins on A Lin B1 Power Plant in Thua Thien - Hue

News - The construction of the A Lin B1 Hydro-electric
Power Plant in Hong Trung commune, A Luoi district, Thua Thien – Hue province, started
on August 30.
This is a major hydro-electric power project in the
province with a total investment of nearly VND 900 billion (US$47.5 million).
The plant will provide 177 million KWh of
electricity per year once completed after three years of construction.
The project will also provide more water for three
terraced hydro-electric power projects along the Rao Trang river.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Phan Ngoc Tho, Vice
Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee said that A Lin B1 is the first
hydro-electric project invested by the province’s one enterprise, the Truong
Phu Hydro-electric Power Joint Stock Company. In addition to adding electricity
to the national power grid, this plant will contribute to shifting professional
structure in the province.
On this occasion, the company donated VND 100
million to build two ‘compassion’ houses, and to set up a fund to provide
travel support for locals in Hong Van and Hong Trung communes in A Luoi
district.
